Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from buyers. Cannot find what you need? Ask our engineers.

What is the difference between a bath sonicator and a probe sonicator?

A bath sonicator cleans by immersing the whole part in a tank of liquid, so it's suited to batches of parts or components with complex shapes, threads and blind holes. A probe sonicator focuses ultrasonic energy directly into a small sample through a metal probe, which is why it's used for lab work like cell disruption, emulsification and nanoparticle dispersion rather than general parts cleaning.

What frequency do I need for my application?

Lower frequencies (around 20-28 kHz) produce larger, more aggressive cavitation bubbles suited to heavy soils and robust industrial parts. Higher frequencies (around 40-80 kHz) produce gentler, finer cleaning suited to delicate components and precision surfaces. Dual and triple-frequency machines let you switch between settings on the same tank.

What size tank do I need?

Tank size depends on your largest part's dimensions, your batch volume, and how many cycles you need to run per shift. Our bath sonicators range from 1.5 litres for small lab or workshop use up to 1500 litres for high-volume industrial lines.

Can I clean multiple part types in one machine?

Yes, provided the parts are compatible with the same cleaning solution and don't need very different frequencies. Multi-chamber and multi-stage systems let you run different processes (wash, rinse, dry) or different part batches in sequence without cross-contamination.
