Why does an ultrasonic cleaning bath need a chiller?
Ultrasonic cavitation generates heat as a byproduct of the sound energy passing through the liquid. On long cleaning cycles or with continuous use, the bath can heat up enough to evaporate solvent, weaken the cleaning solution, or affect heat-sensitive parts. A built-in chiller keeps the bath at a stable, controlled temperature regardless of cycle length.
When do I actually need a chiller rather than a standard heated bath?
If you run long cycles, high-duty-cycle production, or clean temperature-sensitive parts and solvents, a chilled system prevents temperature drift that could otherwise affect cleaning consistency or damage parts. For occasional, short-cycle use, a standard heated bath is usually sufficient.
Can the bath run continuously for long cleaning cycles?
Yes. The chiller removes the heat that ultrasonic energy puts into the bath, so the liquid stays within its working temperature range instead of climbing through a long cycle. That is what makes extended or back-to-back runs practical without pausing to let the bath cool.
